The 2013 Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner, benefiting the recently opened Bernard Dog Run, will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Teamster’s Temple in Lawrenceville.

“The 2012 Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner was, by all accounts, an overwhelming success for the Bernard Dog Run Initiative,” said event chair Chris Lugo. Months after the successful 2012 event, the Bernard Dog Run was officially opened to the public on September 8, 2012.

The Bernard Dog Run initiative was named in honor of the late Jay Bernard — a Lawrenceville resident, entrepreneur and abandoned dog advocate. Bernard founded The Boys of Lawrenceville and created its Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner fund-raiser in 2004 to benefit local families and organizations. In 2012, the dinner became the major annual fund-raiser for the Bernard Dog Run initiative.

Ground broken on August 22 at Bernard Dog Run site

Located at the Lawrenceville Riverfront Trail and 40th Street Bridge, the Bernard Dog Run was named to honor the legacy of the late Jay Bernard — a Lawrenceville resident, entrepreneur and abandoned dog advocate.

With many successful community fundraising events over the years, including the recent Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner held in March of 2012, the Bernard Dog Run initiative was able to clear the final major hurdle with the help of national radio personality Delilah Rene Luke and her Paint the Town charity!
