EAT SPAGHETTI. SUPPORT DOGS.
The 2013 Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner, benefiting the recently opened Bernard Dog Run, will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Teamster Temple in Lawrenceville.
“The 2012 Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner was, by all accounts, an overwhelming success for the Bernard Dog Run Initiative,” said event chair Chris Lugo. Months after the successful 2012 event, the Bernard Dog Run was officially opened to the public on October 4, 2012.
“In 2013, we look to again host the Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner which will directly benefit the newly opened Bernard Dog Run that was built for our community in honor of the late Jay Bernard.”
Tickets to this fun-filled event will be $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door, with free admission for children under 10 years of age. Visit Espresso a Mano or Gallery on 43rd Street to purchase your tickets early.
Volunteers and donations are needed to help support this annual spaghetti dinner. In 2012, more than 60 volunteers and 85 local companies/individuals contributed to ensure the spaghetti dinner’s positive impact.
The Bernard Dog Run committee is searching for event sponsors for this 2013 community fund-raiser. If your organization is interested in event sponsorship opportunities, please email Chris Lugo at Chris.Lugo@BernardDogRun.org.

About the Bernard Dog Run and Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner
The Bernard Dog Run initiative started in 2008 with the sole mission of establishing a community off-leash dog park that is well-maintained, safe and enjoyable for the dogs and dog owners of Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood.
The initiative was named in honor of the late Jay Bernard–a Lawrenceville resident, entrepreneur and abandoned dog advocate. Mr. Bernard pioneered neighborhood involvement in Lawrenceville, serving as a catalyst for community activities including Art All Night, the Joy of Cookies Tour and the Lawrenceville House Tour.
Bernard founded The Boys of Lawrenceville and created its Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner fund-raiser in 2004 to benefit local families and organizations. In 2012, the dinner became the major annual fund-raiser for the Bernard Dog Run initiative.
